April 18, 2024 Last Sunday Michael & I hosted a Murder Mystery party. If you’ve never been to one, you must give it a whirl. I don’t know what is so funny about seeing your friends in costume, but I was laughing from my gut most of the day. We purchased Murder at the Manor on Amazon and I sent out the invites with the character I chose for each of my guests. Everyone dressed up and I think… even the guys… enjoyed getting into character. We all brought a dish to share and a few bottles of champagne “may have” been popped. 80 degree weather made it a perfect afternoon. Check out the photos… they do all the talking! My easy go-to appetizer if your curious is Brie topped with Homemade BlackBerry Jam wrapped in Prosciutto & Puff Pastry then baked until golden brown (375-400 oven until brown… 20-30 minutes depending on size). Hint… cut the ham into smaller bite size pieces before wrapping so it doesn’t all slide out when you cut into the brie. You can always cheat and by store bought jam. But here is my jam ‘recipe” if you care to try it on your own. 1-pint blackberries, half pint blueberries, 1 cup or more brown sugar, splash vanilla, ¾ bottle of port wine, simmer until you forget about it and your favorite line cook yells “Sharon what’s this on the stove!?!” Thank him inside your head but tell him out loud you were just coming for it and act annoyed. Stir it and if it’s perfectly thick enough to be considered jammy then it’s done. Cheers, Sharon
