And, another fine week it has been. Christmas has come and gone and we’re headed into the last week of the year. I had a lovely Christmas Eve with my sister Jo, her family, my sister-in-law Deb and family and my Mom. Per her Italian tradition Deb did her homemade pizzas. The smell of fresh yeast baking can’t be beat. Jo treated us to perfectly cooked beef tenderloin and I brought the cookies. Christmas day I headed to Kensington with the pups and took a nice long walk. It was almost balmy. They loved it. My big boy Z was treated to lots of cut-up carrots and apples. If he lived here, with me, I’d throw a saddle on and we’d head down the road for a quiet ride. Some day…
We’re taking limited reservations for New Year’s Eve. Note that there will be plenty of space left for those of you who just want to “walk-in.” We’ll have the Spartans on TV and be rooting them on. Our menu for NYE is fantastic including Fried Oysters with Asian Slaw; Meat “Butter” AKA Chicken Liver Pate Topped with Fig Jam; a Grilled Filet Mignon served with Lobster Mashers and Tempura Asparagus; Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes served over Black Eyed Pea “Hash” and Roasted Corn Coulis; Vegetarian Butternut Squash Ravioli Tossed with Forest Mushrooms, Red Onion & Sherry Cream Sauce and Sole “Italian” Style filled with Artichoke Hearts, Roasted Garlic, Pine Nuts and Italian Cheeses Presented over Carrot Risotto with Lemon Butter Sauce. YUM!!
I think that New Years Eve is my favorite day at the Bistro. The mood is happy and up-beat and fun. If we don’t see you remember that we’re closed New Years Day.
