Bistro Newsletter

As I write the newsletter, it’s 11 pm Thursday, I rolled into the Bistro today (late) around 11: 45 this morning. Lunch was huge… busy from the moment I got here (late). As soon as I sat the door, the phone was ringing, food needed to be ran, more folks arriving, then I had to hop on the line (glad I can still help the kitchen and do that!), run the food I just plated, seat more people, bus tables, run more food, answer the phone, continue to do all of the above again and again. That went on until well after 2 (thankfully… I love a busy lunch, it makes the day FLY by and well, we’re here to make money!) In the afternoon, Chef Max and I talk specials, then orders and before I know it, it was time to set up for tonight. We were filled with reservations, even the bar was reserved (something I do not normally do) for The Tinneys second show with us. Michael had a wine dinner tonight and so there was not my usual sound guy on the job, I noticed a weird tweak in the guitar for the first few songs but after Joe re-tuned his guitar, he & Elsa harmonized perfectly, and the night was a HUGE success! (Michigan humidity is wonky on wood guitars I learned). Kitchen rocked out the food!!!! Servers were on point and hustling. I had a lovely night because the Bistro was filled with my family and you, my friends. It’s almost 11:30 now, I still need to organize the office (pay bills) and post specials for the weekend. Amanda is cleaning the bar as I type. Everyone else has gone home. It’s quiet finally, only the buzz of the ice machine can be heard.

I love this crazy business.​
