Another week has just flown by, I know it’s not fall yet but I swear when I look at the calendar it feels like the air will be crisp and chilly before we know it. Michael and I had a relaxing weekend, we enjoyed a nice Sunday Brunch at Coeur in Ferndale and an afternoon float with Brisket. She literally floated on a floatie in my friend’s pool for an hour. Absolutely delightful and just what I needed before a busy work week.

Last night my bro-in-law, Glasgow Joe, and his incredibly talented daughter (my niece) Elsa had an awesome set here at the Bistro. This annual tradition (only sidelined by covid twice) has become one of my favorite nights here. EVERY single table and seat at the bar were taken, many filled by my family and personal friends as well as my Bistro buddies. My heart was swelling with love, pride and total joy. This year Elsa stole the show at her “dad’s gig”. I think I will be renaming it Elsa Jo with “special guest” Glasgow Joe. She was fabulous, at only 17 I was impressed with not only her vocals but her poise and confidence. Remarkable young woman.

I want to thank everyone who stopped in, the bistro was really jumping! I absolutely adore live music especially when it is performed by musicians who LOVE what they do. There was dancing and many sing alongs. Our own superstar Jena got up and did a number. You could hear a pin drop, there is something so soulful about her voice that just draws the crowd right in. Michael and a few of his buddies snuck in a song or two as well. It was fun to have my hubby “working” the dining room, chatting with guests who haven’t really met him but who have read about him. I think he easily went right into his old days of maître d’. I better sharpen my dining room skills; I think someone has their eye on my job!?!

Cheers,

Sharon
