Thank you to everyone who ordered their Thanksgiving sides through the Bistro. Another year in the books and I am happy to say all went smoothly. Chef Max was amazing as always. He even prepped my veggies for the stuffing I prepare for you all, so I am extra appreciative this year for his services. What an amazing chef and friend! You rock Max!

Things I’m thankful for… YOU!!!!! We wouldn’t be here without you. I’m grateful to continue the Diamond Jim Brady’s legacy. But more important than you being here to eat and spending your hard earned money with us, it is the stories I hear every day that make it so special. The birthdays and anniversaries you share with us. The genuine friendships I have made here. I look forward to coming to work every day, I don’t think everyone is able to say that.

I’m incredibly thankful to my staff who support me, who have given me their loyalty, work hard every day and show up with their best attitude. The friendships I’ve developed keep me going even during the hard days. At least one person makes me laugh every day. Priceless.
I’m thankful to my mom for raising me and loving me unconditionally, for showing me and teaching me kindness. I’m grateful to my husband Michael for being the best partner a girl could ask for. I’m grateful for my Picked Hens who keep me sane and allow me to be my weird self.
I’m incredibly grateful to my two sisters Karen and Christine. They’ve always included me, showed me patience and true friendship. The three of us have an unbreakable bond. We had a girl’s getaway last Saturday to Leamington in Ontario. We rented a house right on Lake Erie, five minutes from Point Pelee. We were lucky and had sunny “warmish” weather every day. We laughed a lot. Thanks sisters, it was a fabulous weekend.

Here's a list of highlights from the trip:
  • Wineries: Paglione (good Prosecco & Gamay, great pizza, sunshine) Sprucewood (nice Riesling, pretty beach walk, lots of beach glass) Oxley Wine (funky whites, outdoor fire pit, pretty location)
  • El Diablo in Kingsville for trendy fusion tacos and tasty margaritas
  • Wilderness Retreat & Nordic Spa: private sauna in the woods with cold plunge pool. Invigorating way to spend the morning. I thought this place was really cool
  • Point Pelee National Park: Canada’s most southern tip, I always love a nice beach walk.
  • Sunsets over the lake sharing bubbles and laughs with my sisters.

Cheers & Happy Thanksgiving,
Sharon
