As Thanksgiving drew near Charlie Brown said he could not cook, all he could make was “maybe” toast and cold cereal. Linus reminded him that they could butter his toast, as Charlie Brown was not very good at that. But it was wise Marcie who said “We should just be thankful for being together. I think that’s what they mean by Thanksgiving Charlie Brown.”

I am forever grateful for my two sisters. They are the only two people in the world who know me like no other. They have experienced all that I have, and mainly from the same perspective. They gave me guidance when young and I look up to them still. They are bold, smart women and they both think I’m funny… so that proves they are intelligent! They still treat me like the baby sister, and I love that.
My mom is my personal hero for a thousand reasons, too many to mention here. She loves me unconditionally. Nothing beats the safe feeling of being loved no matter what.

My husband, Michael, is my partner in everything. He trusts me, encourages me, respects me and puts up with my ridiculousness, he also brings me coffee in bed every morning and that is THE BEST! I’m happy we’re growing grey together.

My staff…. I can’t even begin to tell you how important they are to me and how I feel love for each of them and feel loved by each of them in return. They are truly my family. They listen to me, confide in me and we share our hopes and our worries. Special shout out to Max who puts up with my wishy-washiness control freakiness and to Amanda who has become a best friend to me. Love you guys!

Finally, I am so thankful and lucky to have my Pickled Hens. Much like my work family we share our daily lives. We talk all the time and see each other frequently. They are supportive, uplifting and understanding. Of course, they are my go-to girls to do fun things with! In the last two weeks, we’ve schvitzed, toured, ate, drank, walked, played and now we’re yoga-ing together. Check out the pictures from all our recent fun in the photo gallery.

After all that mushy stuff has been said, let’s be totally honest. We all know Thanksgiving is “somewhat” about the food. On that note, Thanksgiving is NOT the time to experiment with new dishes. Keep it simple! Or if you need a little help, there is no shame in ordering from your favorite Bistro to help ease the work of a large important meal. Call me at the Bistro if you would like to order a few traditional sides. You have until tonight to place your order for pick up next Wednesday. We’ve got your back!

Thank you to all of you who read my ramblings and have chatted with me at the Bistro. I really enjoy our conversations. I’ve met so many interesting and kind people from the Bistro. I have learned many life lessons from so many of you. You make me laugh, sometimes cry and I am honored to share our table(s) with you.

Cheers & GO LIONS!
