Bistro Newsletter

Much like the rest of you, this cold weather and snow have kept me home. I’ve only ventured out a few times. Yoga class with Sara, once to the Rare Plant Fairy in Detroit and a day at The Schvitz with some of the Hens. Mostly I’ve hunkered down and cooked at home with Michael. I even had time for a batch of homemade Dog Treats for Brisket. 

Yoga class can sometimes bring up emotions for me. I don’t know what it is about breathing in unison with a group and your bestie, but I often get a little misty eyed. Our instructor spoke on personal growth and finding peace with everything that has been happening in the world today. No matter what side of the political aisle you stand on, seeing humans, whether American citizens or immigrants, gunned down in our streets by masked men is terrifying and horribly sad. I for one am angry, heartbroken and emotionally exhausted. I only pray we can find a path to peace. It’s a scary time right now. The world seems on edge with tensions running high and tempers ready to flare at any moment. I can’t help but to constantly “doom scroll”, especially being stuck inside. But I’m going to take my own advice; put down my phone, gather my friends, get out of the house, move my body and find the JOY.
