Hoping everyone had a great Mother’s Day, our day at the ballpark was almost perfect. Sunshine, a cold beer, a hot dog, a good view, and Mom happy to be at the game… only thing missing was a Tigers win!

A heartfelt thanks to those of you who ordered our Moms Day carryout. I hope you enjoyed everything!

Lots of little things happening at the Bistro, keeping me busy. Cooler repairs, new phone system being decided upon, re-finishing a few tabletops, fresh flowers in the boxes and I need to pull the sheers and launder them. Other than planting flowers, all these tasks are not my favorite. I rather be back on the line cooking ANY day over deciding who to write a check to first. Repairs and maintenance are my least favorite as it is not my area of expertise. Although Chef Max seemed to get a kick out of me on the line with a drill fixing a broken hinge on the cooler in the middle of Saturday night service. A girl must do what a girl must do! I remember Mary often thinking someone was ripping her off. I get it now. If you’re unsure of something and don’t have an educated “guess” it’s hard to trust people. I feel the same way about getting my oil changed and always refuse any extras… thinking they are just trying to rip me off. My husband just rolls his eyes at me and does all the suggested services on his car. I pretty much just get my oil changed and pray to the car gods. Some may call me frugal I suppose, I call it being careful with my hard-earned money. I recently watched a five-minute YouTube video, and I changed my own air filter and saved myself nearly 50 bucks. Worth it to me… I would rather buy a glass of champagne, much more fun than an air filter.

Cheers,
Sharon
