Bistro Newsletter

I know most or all of you have visited our bar at some time or another, but I’d like to formerly introduce you to our youngest “newest” bartender Tori. She joined our team about 6 years ago right before Covid hit. We snagged her from Granite City when it was just getting weird to be in the restaurant business. When we were considered essential workers and it was a scary time to be working with the mass public while everyone else was sheltering in place. Tori got her foot in the door with a recommendation from Amanda, they worked together at Library Pub, and she has filled the position nicely, becoming someone who I trust and enjoy.

Tori grew up in Waterford, the youngest of 3, with two older brothers. She is super close to her mom, always was, but especially when her father passed when Tori was only 20. She visits her Papaw and Nanny in Alabama every year and has inherited their southern hospitality. Tori still sends her grandparents cards every holiday and birthday. Tori has a beautiful smile with a caring soul to match. I often see her chatting closely with a guest at the bar and she really knows how to take care of her favorites, my mom included. Speaking of mom, she likes to call me mom and one day a guest said “oh, you work with your mom… that’s so cute”. I almost fired Tori that day…. Haha. I’m not THAT much older?!!? She is extremely protective, especially of her co-workers, her close friends, “her nerd pack” as I call them. She’s very organized behind the bar and is our head bottle washer. No joke the girl is a good cleaner! Since working here, Tori has taken over the beer program, researching and ordering our special kegs. Tori is especially interested in our Non-Alcoholic drinks. She makes a super mocktail!

With a degree in Anthropology, her interests are crafting, especially cross stitching, music… especially K-POP and Japanese anime. She loves her animals, especially her cat Andouille who she rescued from our alley a few summers ago. Tori speaks some Italian but would love to learn Korean.
Next time you’re at our bar, say Hi, Ciao or 안녕하세요 (annyeonghaseyo) to Tori!​
