The Tinney family has went home… no more live music at the Bistro until next summer… unless we can get Jena to do a night here at the Bistro. Maybe this fall?!

Before everyone left though, I hosted a party for my niece Elsa, who graduated from High School and my nephew William who graduated from U of M.

My mom’s siblings and my cousin came in for the event. It was a few weekends ago and boy was it ever HOT!! We cooled down with Karen’s Brazilian Limeade, a Mezza Platter to start and two beautiful, chilled Salad’s sister Christine made. I grilled Surf & Turf and Michigan Corn with multiple flavored butters for everything. Elsa made a stellar Chimichurri and Karen made Tiramisu. 

Christine decorated with Elsa’s school pictures from every year since kindergarten along my fence and the girls (who all matched but me… little sister always left out of everything!!!) reenacted a few TikTok’s (without me because I didn’t match…?!?!).

I set up an easel so the entire family could co-paint a portrait of Elsa together. She is headed to The Glasgow School of Art and I wanted to celebrate Elsa with an artsy theme. For William, I made a game of what team could get the marble from one end of the table to the other using a few household items, chopsticks and homemade airflow since he is an engineer. Elsa and William think the rest of us should have studied more in school on both subjects… haha. Needless to say, we had fun, and everyone left with full bellies. Many thanks to my family members who helped me pull off another shindig. It’s way more fun when you share the workload.​
