Just a few announcements to make this week. Next Wednesday, October 30th, our very own American Idol Runner-Up Jena Asciutto will be performing at the Bistro! Her set starts at 6:30 and she will be playing original music and some popular covers until 8:30. Reservations are already filling up quickly so be sure to get a table asap. We’ll have standing room and our usual stools around the bar, and you can probably sit with Jena’s friends up front if you want to catch a song or two up close and personal. We’re very excited to host Jena!

Monday December 9th, DETROIT City of Chefs will be premiering at the Novi Emagine Theatre. If my scenes haven’t been cut from the documentary, you may get a chance to see me on the big screen. General admission tickets are $20, and rumor has it, part of your purchase supports a few local charities. If you are unable to make the premiere, an edited version will be aired on PBS the next day, Tuesday the 10th.

Last Monday was so warm I had to grab some girlfriends and hit the last few patios that were open. San Morello, in the Shinola Hotel and Coriander Kitchen were excellent choices for our group. I love both for different reasons. At San Morello the food is consistently good, and I love the vibe at Coriander along the Detroit canals, this time the food was excellent as well… I’ve had mixed experiences in the past. On Mondays they run a grilled cheese special, and it really hit the spot! We have had a few warm days here at the Bistro with the patio curtains open and we’ve been turning the heaters on at night. The patios are very comfortable!  We’re definitely enjoying the warm weather well into October… lucky us!
