We had a great time on Sunday celebrating our first Brady Family party in 2 years. Amanda and Sharon did a great job of planning and I just got to nod my head “OK.” It was our intention to start early, 11:15, and end early 3:30. We did both. For years Sharon and I have wanted to get a logo-ed fleece for the crew and finally did it. Well, Amanda got it done pulling it off at the last minute. They are really cool. As everyone arrived we did a champagne toast and then boarded the bus to our destination, Coratti’s Pizzeria Bar and Bocce in Howell. It is an awesome Napolitano style pizza restaurant with really great appetizers and salads. The food and service was excellent. Playing bocce was really fun. Not many of us had played before but once we learned the rules, well, let me say that the competition was intense. A fun time was had by all. Can’t wait until next year!!!
I did watch the SB on and off and was really glad that Matt Stafford got his win. It is odd though that less than 1000 people showed up for the parade on Wednesday. What’s that about???
Also it was strange to not be open for Valentine’s Day. I was in the Bistro later that afternoon doing orders had a de-ja-vu of past February 14ths. It didn’t bother me at all that I stuck to our regular days of being closed and am really thankful for everyone that celebrated early with us Friday and Saturday.
Monday is President’s Day and a Federal Holiday so get your banking and mailing done… Originally established in honor of our first President’s birthday, George Washington on February 22, 1732 it became an official holiday in 1971. It is always celebrated on the third Monday of February.
As I’m writing this the snow is coming down at a pretty good clip. I’ve got at least 2 inches in a little over an hour. The pups get covered in minutes and are soaked as it melts when they get back into the warm house. I just watched a small group of snow dusted deer traipse through the yard and there is a huge owl perched that looks white instead of its usual variegated brown colors. I’m sure he or she is looking out for dinner.
Speaking of dinner, Sharon and Crew have some great Chalkboard Features starting tomorrow.

VEGETARIAN THAI PLATE: Baked Sweet Potato Topped with Stir-Fried Broccoli, Peanuts, Edamame, Carrot, Red Onion and Red Bell Pepper in a Yellow Coconut Curry. YUM!!!
