Who’s ready for Spring? I know I am! Little green shoots on my walks, my trip to green Scotland and warm weather are making me excited for a menu change next week here at the Bistro. Max and I sat down yesterday, reviewed what were the “soft” sellers on the menu, what was not so seasonal anymore and what inspires us. Everything GREEN came up! Peas, Sprouts, Asparagus, Mint, Ramps, Spring Onions and more. Rhubarb, Crab, Baby Carrots, Rosé, Pansies and a new extended patio for the Bistro were also on our list of things to discuss and update.

Bartender Maddy went down to an industry tasting at the Grosse Point Yacht Club to taste wine and has some great ideas for our list. I thought of my favorite outdoor spots… canal side at Coriander Kitchen in Detroit, the patio at Supergeil in Corktown, the beautiful deck at The Dixboro Project, Cranbrook, riding down the Dequinder Cut, my own backyard. All these things will lead to changes for the Bistro.

Say goodbye to heavy, rich, warm and hearty… say hello to fresh, crisp, colorful, bright and healthy. This will just be a few small changes; we’ll do another update in late May or early June when the tomatoes and watermelon are tastier, and the days are longer and warmer.​
