I don’t have many hobbies but one hobby I do love is dining and wining on patios in the summertime. Does that qualify as a hobby?!?

Our patios here at the Bistro are in full swing. If you haven’t been in lately, we have a few new Summer Menu items…gazpacho is back and our Lamb Flat Bread on the Gluten Free Cauliflower Crust is one of my new favorites.

Last Sunday I checked out Framebar in Hazel Park as they were also hosting a “farmer’s market” which consisted of a few local vendors and a whole bunch of Michigan Wines. Mawby, Shady Lane Cellars & 2 Lads were some of my favorites. My bestie, Sara, and I had brunch on the patio and enjoyed our time together very much, the food was tasty, and we enjoyed the Michigan wines they were featuring at the market. Frame brings in rotating chefs so every month they have a different menu. We did a book exchange as well. We’re both avid readers. (ok, I have 2 hobbies?!?)

The second patio I enjoyed was Beppe in downtown Royal Oak. Michael and I had a great dinner there earlier this week. I always get the barramundi over risotto. It was excellent and the bartender and Michael hit it off chatting wine all night. Cody was able to almost keep up with Michael’s wine ramblings. I was impressed.

The last patio I enjoyed was my very own at home. Michael was away camping with Brisket, so I finished my book Mad Honey (a guest recommended it, thank you!) by Jodi Picoult. I liked this novel, it was timely with today’s world, had a few crazy twists and I love her writing style. Sara can enjoy it next as we’ll be traveling together with the Pickled Hens to visit Hocking Hills. I can’t wait for this annual girls’ trip over Father’s Day weekend.

To all the dad’s out there, I hope someone takes you to a nice patio somewhere and spoils you!

Cheers,
Sharon
