Welcome to the Bistro

And, another fine week it has been!

It is hard to believe that we’re headed into the last few days of 2014. Christmas Eve was spent at my sister-in-law’s Deb’s, and her homemade pizza hit the spot. Christmas morning the pooches and I had breakfast with my sister Jo and her family and then headed home.  Christmas around the Brady house was fairly quiet, which, was nice. I was supposed to meet friends for dinner but opted out at the last minute -- I just wanted to hang out and relax. The holiday season is exhausting for those of us in the restaurant business. It is go-go-go then on our few days of we’re catching up for lost time with family and friends.  So it was nice last night to light a fire and watch an old movie. I really had the hankering for Chinese so cooked some soba noodles and tossed them with edamame beans, sesame oil, garlic and a “big, earthy soy sauce.” It was good! The pups were glad to have me around for a change and shadowed my every move, their big eyes imploring “please don’t leave again Mom.”  It’s back to work today and we’ll start gearing up for New Year’s Eve. Sharon and I are doing a live TV cooking segment on Tuesday for Fox 2. It is the kick-off of our 60th year in business, which we’ll celebrate NYE.

Speaking of which we’re taking limited reservations for New Year’s Eve. Note that there will be plenty of space left for those of you who just want to “walk-in.”  Our menu for NYE is fantastic including Grilled Lamb Chops, Lobster and Crab Cakes, Butternut Squash Ravioli’s with a Sherry Mushroom Sauce and my all-time-hand’s-down-favorite Bouillabaisse.    New Years Eve is my favorite day at the Bistro. The mood is happy and up-beat. If we don’t see you remember that we’re closed New Years Day.

Sharon and crew have some great Chalkboard Features starting tonight: Pecan Walleye, a Bistro Filet and Shrimp Etouffee, A Rich and Thick Cajun Stew.

Look Forward To Seeing You At The Bistro!!!

We wish you a Million Dollar Day and the Happiest of New Years!

XO, Mary
