Another fine week it has been!!! And, continues today as Niki and I celebrate Pico’s 11th birthday with our favorite boy.  Tom and I drove to Indianapolis 10 years ago to pick him up from his foster home after being rescued from a puppy mill. HALO, the Havanese rescue organization goes to dog auctions, mostly attended by buyers for pet stores, and purchases as many litters and breeding dogs as possible for adoption. Pico, formally known as Pete, was one of the lucky guys to get a better lease on life after a tough start at such. I remember the first time seeing him romping with 10 other, already spoken for pups, and letting Niki, who traveled with us on our day long journey, down with them all. We had already chosen Pico via on-line photos and he bonded with us immediately.  It took he and the Niki-girl a few days but then all was good. They are best buds.  We all know how lucky the 3 of us are to have each other. Dogs are awesome. As are horses. P and Z rock too.
