And, another fine week it has been. I’m just in from a great walk with the pups, the sun is shining and it’s approaching 8 PM. I’m not sure why, but this spring forward has been much easier than usual. Maybe I just didn’t think about it so much. I appreciate the longer days but, since I’m an early riser I don’t care for the dark mornings. I also had a great time with my “horse puppies” Z and P today. They are shedding like the dickens keeping Courtney and I busy with grooming and then grooming ourselves from all the hair that flies around. Life is good in the furry Brady world!
The recent power outage has been an interesting topic of conversation at the Bistro. I am happy to say that Tom and I invested in a “whole house” generator years ago-one of the best purchases ever made. Being on a well it is virtually impossible to exist without running water for more than a few days. I give daily thanks for having water knowing that many people of the world suffer without on a continual basis. My feelings are mirrored in Mitch Albom’s column last Sunday. Wow, it says it all. Please read and realize how fortunate we are. Mitch Albom: No power a reminder of those who do without Monday, March 20th marks the Spring Equinox, the day of the year when night and day are equal in length. It is the first day of the Spring season and with it comes the awakening of the early bulbs and start of budding on the flowering trees. My garden is spotted with bunches of tiny crocus and the tulips and daffodils are trying to push through to the warmth. The axis of the earth is increasing its tilt towards the sun and the length of daylight and temperatures will begin to increase rapidly. And, we can look forward to June 21st, the Summer Solstice, or, first day of summer and the longest day of the year. Bring it on!! Sharon and crew have some great St. Pat’s specials. They’ve been cooking Corned Beef and Cabbage, Beef and Stout Stew, Lobster Pot Pie, Lamb Stew, Rainbow Trout and O’Brien Potatoes and of course, Guinness on Tap. We’ve prepared enough, hopefully, to last thru Sunday. ERIN GO BRAUGH!! WE WISH YOU MANY MILLION DOLLAR DAYS!!! AND, LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THE BISTRO. XO, MARY, NIKI, PICO, Z AND P
