And, another fine week it has been! It is hard to believe that it’s February. I love that the sun has been shining as it makes even a cold day bright. Interestingly once the sun is out everyone wants a seat on the patio with the light streaming through. They are a favorite place to take my break or to sit with Sharon for our meetings. They are serene. Best yet dogs are allowed on the west patio year round. It is so much fun to hear about your pets. I’m forever thankful for my Niki and Pico. They are my buds, always at my heels. Unless a deer or squirrel peak their interest while we’re in the yard – then they are gone in a flash and I have to go trekking after them. I’ve always got “treats” in my pocket to lure them home. If they weren’t little I’d just let them roam but with coyotes and foxes about I’m leery to do so. Trust me, it isn’t hard to trapes after them, I love the woods too. Picasso and Z were able to get a few “pasture days” in this week thanks to the warmer weather. The first thing they do is lower themselves to the ground and roll, getting a good back scratch in. Then they stand up, have a good shake and take off galloping and bucking, working off the pent-up “standing in the stall” energy that’s built up. They are like big dogs who love to hear praises of “good boy” and the carrots and apples that follow.

We will be closed Sunday, Super Bowl, for our 25th Employee Party. I think this is our largest ever with close to 40 of us that will have a great time with what Sharon and I have planned. It is always a surprise for our gang and it is fun to have everyone guessing as to what we are going to do “this year.” We meet by noon, have a champagne toast and “head for the hills.” Everyone is back on time to watch the game or go home and relax, which is what I’m planning on doing. I’ll fill you in next week on the festivities. This is the 52nd (LII) Super Bowl and a re-match of 2004’s which the Patriots won against the Eagles 24-21.  The Patriots have been contenders in 10 Super Bowls with 8 led by quarterback Tom Brady and all coached by Bill Belichick. There are millions of dollars spent on snack foods, pop and beer. While grocery shopping yesterday I couldn’t believe the stacks of chips, nuts, pretzels, guacamole, salsas and 12 packs. BIG GAME day is the second largest of food consumption after Thanksgiving. And then, of course, Justin Timberlake at half time!

Sharon and crew have some Awesome Chalkboard Features once again. As a starter Pan Roasted Squid filled with Spicy Italian Sausage Garnished with Mild Banana Peppers, Kalamata Olives and a Sprinkle of Feta. Bistro Plates include Fresh Atlantic Cod Seasoned with Old Bay and Basil Oil, baked and Accompanied with Lemon Rice and a Tangle of Brussels, Chard, Cabbage and Leeks; Pacific Rockfish, Sweet, Mild and Flaky Alaskan Fillets, Are Braised in a Japanese Flavored Sauce and Served Over Rice Noodles Tossed with Fresh Basil, Mint and Carrot; A 10 ounce Grilled Pork Chop is Presented With a White Bean Ragout with Carrots, Onions, Garlic and Tomato and For Dessert: Tiramisu – Layers of Lady Fingers, Mocha, Espresso and Pastry Cream.
